Eight people arrested

Tempest roundabout – St Erth

Officers attended Tempest roundabout on 13 June in response to protesters who had set up an intentional roadblock.

A group of three people had locked themselves to a minibus on the roundabout. Public Order officers were deployed, and the protesters were given several opportunities to move prior to further action being taken.

The group refused to move, and Protest Removal Teams attended with specialist equipment to remove them safely.

A further four people detained in relation to this matter. The vehicle and locking equipment has been seized by police.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit public nuisance and have since been released on police bail until early July.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of obstructing a public highway. Three have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries and one has been released with a caution.

 

Stennack roundabout – St Ives

Police liaison teams dealt with an intentional roadblock by protestors at the junction of Carnellis Road and The Burrows, on 13 June. 

Five people had glued themselves to the road and four people had locked themselves to a flowerpot. Lock on equipment has been seized.

Public order officers engaged with the group who, following conversation, self-released and left the area. The protest passed peacefully, and the group were well engaged with officers.

One man was arrested on suspicion of blocking a public highway. He was taken into police custody and has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Enquiries remain ongoing in relation to both matters.

No one arrested in relation the G7 policing operation remains in police custody in the force area.
